The next boundary of semantic governance

As AI capability grows, human authority must remain.

SIA researches how external semantic governance extends toward more autonomous and capability-modifying systems — with each capability labeled by its status, never overstated.

Frontier capabilities

Where the research is going.

  • Pre-Action Authorization

    Prospective embodiment

Help distinguish what an agent can do from what it is authorized to do—before consequential action occurs.

  • Capability-Change Governance

    Engineering / research program

Explore how external governance can remain effective as AI systems change in capability, configuration, or operation.

  • Persistent Workflow Governance

    Prospective embodiment

Extend external semantic governance across longer, multi-step and multi-agent workflows.

  • Recursive Governance

    Research hypothesis

Research whether external semantic governance can remain authoritative as AI systems become progressively more capable and self-directed.

  • Authority Remains External

    Governing principle

Increasing AI capability does not, by itself, create authority to redefine the human-originated governing objective.

Increasing AI capability should not, by itself, constitute authority to redefine the human-originated objective governing that capability.
Research boundaryFrontier-agent extensions are an engineering and research direction. They should not be presented as a demonstrated solution to autonomous recursive self-improvement, AGI, or ASI.
